As systems and machines become more and more automated, modern drive electronics and controllers are taking on an increasing number of control functions. In particular, high-performance inverters are handling drive tasks such as positioning, synchronous operation and coordinated movement of several drives in relation to one another with high levels of accuracy. As more and more functions are integrated, the requirements for operation, visualization and diagnostics are also increasing.
The operator panels of the DOP (drive operator panel) series fulfill these requirements and provide numerous functions such as recipe management, a dual driver function, pass-through mode and an integrated Web server. With these features, you can always reliably run an optimum visualization from any location, and implement operation and diagnostics of your system.
DOP operator panel displays range from a 2 x 20 character text display to a 1024 x 768 pixel touch screen.
They allow you to view process values, easily change parameters or visualize complex operating modes and statuses for your application. The flexible design of the menu system means that you can optimally adjust the visualization to the structure of the application. You can log fault statuses and process values continuously over longer periods of time. The operator terminals can also store entire parameter sets for the drive inverters connected.
In addition, this series includes a hand-held unit which has additional safety functions such as the “Emergency stop” and “Confirm” pushbuttons. These features allow for safe and convenient operation, even on the machine itself.

HMI-Builder operating software
The operator panels are programmed using the HMI-Builder software. This software provides an interface between humans and machines (human-machine interface) and works according to the “What you see is what you get” concept. This way, you can already see during programming how the visualization will look for your system operator later.
HMI-Builder provides an object library with a large selection of static and dynamic objects. These objects are represented by simple, clear icons. Just select the objects and edit them. The result is your custom screen view.
